Maxim Vengerov announced as QSO’s 2017 Artist-in-Residence

11222465_10153772298015522_1456819085522571061_nMaxim Vengerov has been announced as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra‘s 2017 Artist-in-Residence!

2017 being the year of the orchestra’s 70th anniversary, Maxim will help celebrate this anniversary with the orchestra by performing in a series of concerts in February and November, including his first solo concert hall recital in Queensland, and a season finale performance with the QSO of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.

Olga Borodina Wows @ 1st Night of the BBC Proms

O.B Proms 4Last Friday saw Olga Borodina perform “The Field of the Dead” from Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky cantata at the first night of the BBC Proms.

Under the baton of Maestro Oramo, Olga wowed the Proms audience together with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Chorus of Wales and BBC Symphony Chorus:

 

“Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky cantata…a refined intervention from Olga Borodina in the ‘Field of the Dead’ section; this Russian mezzo’s artistry allowed her to weave exquisite arabesques around the choral theme.” The Independent

Olga Borodina in farewell concert for Daniele Gatti w/ O.N.F

OB, DG & ONFThe 9th June was a busy day for NFBM Ltd! Whilst Maxim Vengerov was in concert at the Istanbul Music Festival, mezzo soprano Olga Borodina was performing in Paris at the Maison de la radio with the Orchestre National de France & Daniele Gatti.

Chosen to perform at the farewell concert by the maestro himself, Ms Borodina performed Prokofiev’s Alexandre Nevsky cantata.

The performance was broadcast live on France Musique and Arte Concert and is still available to watch on ARTE Concert’s website (click here). Catch Olga’s performance from 1:08:25!
