Olga Borodina - the star of the Kirov Opera - where Valeri Gergiev was the first to recognise her talent, is now the most sought after mezzo soprano performing at all major opera houses and incomparable in her roles of Delilah, Carmen, Amneris, Eboli and Italiana.
She will perform Laura in La Gioconda at the Metropolitan Opera for the first time this season, followed by Eboli in Don Carlo, both conducted by James Levine. Concert highlights this season will be Songs and Dances of Death with the Orchestra National de France, the Verdi Requiem with Maestro Muti in London and performances of Samson & Delilah in Brussels and the Concertgebouw.
