
The Russian Bass Ildar Abdrazakov was born in Ufa, Russian Federation, in 1976, where he studied at the Institute for Arts under Professor Murtazina. Mr Abdrazakov has won a number of prizes including first Prize in October 2000 at the Maria Callas International Television Competition in Parma.
In the last few years, Ildar Abdrazakov established himself worldwide with performances of the title role of Mose et Faraon with Maestro Muti at La Scala, Mustapha in Italiana in Algerie at the Metropolitan Opera, Rome Opera, San Francisco Opera and Washington Opera and also sang Figaro in Los Angeles last season. Future engagements are performances of Mefistopheles in Faust - including a live broadcast - at the Metropolitan this season, the title role of Oberto in Bilbao and Semiramide in Berlin. In concert he will appear with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Orchestra Filharmonica of La Scala, the Orchestre de Paris with Muti, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig with Chaily and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Zinman.
