The Russian Bass Ildar Abdrazakov was born in Ufa and has won a number of international competition, including the Moscow Grand Prix , Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov and Maria Callas International Competitions.

In the past few years he has established himself worldwide with performances including the reopening concert of La Scala Theatre conducted by Muti, Mefistopheles in Faust (Metropolitan Opera), Mustafa in Italinana in Algerie (Metropolitan, San Francisco, Washington and Rome Opera), Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor including the HD world broadcast (Metropolitan Opera) Don Giovanni and Leporello (Metropolitan and Washington Opera), Assur in Semiramide (Berlin and Madrid) as well as Figaro (LA) and Moise et Pharaon (La Scala).

Concert engagements include the Orchestra Filharmonica of La Scala, the Orchestre National de France with Muti, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and Chailly, the Orchestra di Santa Caecilia and Pappano and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Muti.

This Summer he will make his debut at the Salzburg Festival in a new production of Moise et Pharaon (Moise) with Maesto Muti and 2010 will see him in a new production of Attila at the Metropolitan Opera.
